Open Forum - Faithful Regret

Just a few questions for this one.

Do you think the original disciples and apostles, in the midst of faithfully carrying out Jesus' call, ever felt stupid or like they were missing out on a wonderful opportunity for themselves?

Have you ever felt like that?

Do you think it's possible or natural to feel regretful in the midst of being faithful?

Discuss.

Totally possible.

Not a week goes by that I don't think, "I could have been an English teacher, you know. Teach my classes, grade my papers and not have to worry about keeping butts in the pews. Wouldn't that be great?"

Or even worse. And yes, I've often felt stupid while following Jesus, but usually that's because a)I AM stupid sometimes and b) Jesus lets me follow him anyway. :-) But you knew that...

I was a teacher. Weekends and holidays off, most evenings free.
Papers to grade, parents and administrators questioning things you did, teaching to pass state tests instead of things they really needed to know or might have been more fun, no leeway in curriculum, constant budget cuts, buying my own supplies...I am a fool for Christ and wear my tee shirt everywhere I go.
