Update: I'm honoring what I say below, but in the meantime you can follow me on Twitter at revjnelson123 if you really miss my ramblings that much.
Okay. This is a hard announcement to write, but it makes a lot of sense to me at the moment.
I am taking a three-month sabbatical from this blog.
I have multiple reasons for this, and I think they're good.
First, I have a different writing project into which I want to pour my creative energy. This is the main one. Instead of using this as my writing-related diversion, I'll use that instead. Depending on how far I get with it, I'll definitely tell you more about it in three months.
Second, this time of year is just crazy. I have almost literally a zillion things happening at and around the church, and it won't let up until after Easter.
Finally, I just need a break. I know that I said this at the beginning of January, but this time I think I really mean it. Especially if I want to do the thing I listed as part of the first reason.
Now, let's all acknowledge the elephant in the room: you don't think I'll be back, do you? A blogger quits, even promises to be back after whenever, and then s/he doesn't come back.
May 2nd. Write it down. Mark it on your foreheads and on your hearts. If you have a planner, write it in for that date. Seriously. Because on that date, I'm going to write something on this blog. Three months to the day. It's going to happen.
I'll be back.
May 2nd. See you then. And thanks for reading.
