I Need Some Time

Edit: No I don't. Let's just keep going.

Fine readers, I really think I've come to a crossroads regarding not just this blog, but blogging in general.

Everything about this is tiring to me right now. The schedule, the audience (or lack thereof), the forced inspiration (which is quite a contradiction).

I need some time to think over what I want to do, if anything. Maybe a week, or a couple weeks, or a month, or forever.

Thanks for reading.

I'm a long-time reader and also a minister.

I understand your being tired of this, for now. But you should know that at least for the past 4-5 years, I've enjoyed reading your posts. You've made me think, you've challenged me, you've entertained.

It may be discouraging to think that no one reads. I suppose I (and others) should post comments more often to show that we do. It seems, though, that for most bloggers these days, the way to build an audience is to do guest posts on other blogs and to be somewhat non-anonymous.

I've been reading for this long and still don't even know your first name. I understand wanting to protect your privacy and wanting to uphold some boundaries (I'm thinking a lot about boundaries today since last night at 10:45 a congregant texted me asking for the church e-mail address). But you might think about letting some of the guard down so you can be in conversation with more people. Because you do have great things to say.

Just a couple of unsolicited thoughts...

Thanks for your comment, Megan. I'm glad that you've enjoyed my blog for the past few years.

There's really no point in my being anonymous nowadays. Church members know that this blog exists and at least a couple of them are regular readers. But I see how being less anonymous might be attractive to readers.

Stay tuned. I probably won't be away for too long.
