A number of words could describe one's experience of the past 16 months.
Disorienting. Scary. Uncertain. Frustrating. Depressing.
And many might say lonely.
It may be lonely in a literal, physical sense. People have been asked to isolate, to remain apart from loved ones. It may also be lonely in an emotional sense, whether you've been around others or not. It may also be lonely due to relationships that have become more strained due to disagreements over masks and vaccines and variants and conspiracy theories.
This has been a lonely time. And addressing that loneliness has to be through intentional actions of reaching out, sharing our struggles with those we trust, and breaking through the isolation in healthy ways.
How has loneliness been affecting you? What do you need to do to address it?
